It should be noted that using synthetic scents made from sometimes petrochemicals will not have the same therapeutic value or effect as the oils from natural plants which are extracted from either wild, organic or cultivated plants.
Natural oils however have shown through chemistry to have many compounds of organic constituents united to form a delicate complex balance. It is this exquisite earthly made balance that gives essential oils their therapeutic and olfactory (our sense of smell).
For example Eucalyptus contains up to 250 Differents constituents. This is why it is important to use essential oils to gain the effects of the scents. Synthetic oils are usually reproduced using the main 20 or so constituents of a natural oil. They might have a similar aroma, but the real therapeutic value of pure essentail oils lies in the natural complex balance that was made by nature perfect balance.
